Claudio

After 20 years of business experience in digital marketing, Dr. Claudio Schapsis joined the academe to research consumer behavior on emerging technologies. He is currently an Assistant Visiting Professor of Marketing at the Jack Welch School of Business and Technology at Sacred Heart University. There, he teaches diverse digital marketing and advertising topics. His current research focuses on Augmented Reality in retail applications, retailing in the metaverse, and customer value creation with NFTs.

Before joining the academe, Dr. Schapsis held senior marketing positions and participated in projects related to mobile marketing, hyperlocal marketing, and location-based services in diverse verticals. He is also the co-founder of Genuin, a startup that created a business video-only social network.

Dr. Schapsis holds a BSc and an MBA from The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and a doctoral degree from Pace University in NYC. His dissertation focused on consumer adoption of mobile augmented reality in apparel shopping.
